Hello everyone,

I’m excited to share that John has moved to his new location at Mariposa Manor, located at 644 E. Mariposa Dr., Redlands, CA 92373. He will be there from Tuesday, May 26, 2026 onward.

Mariposa Manor is located in a very nice residential neighborhood, so don’t think you are in the wrong place when driving there. It is approximately 35 minutes from Palm Springs, and we hope John will be able to have frequent visits from friends and colleagues in the area.

Mariposa Manor is a CLHF, which stands for Congregate Living Health Facility, in California. It provides 24/7 care for John in a more peaceful and comfortable setting. Since it is an actual house that has been converted into a health facility, there are only a limited number of rooms. John will have his own private room, which should give him more peace and quiet to rest and recover. At Kindred, there has been constant noise from other patients and equipment, which has made it difficult for him to sleep at night.

It has been a battle negotiating with insurance and getting everything approved quickly enough to secure a room, as these rooms are in high demand. We missed the last available room at another facility, but we were very fortunate to secure a room at Mariposa Manor. It is closer to Palm Springs and is a beautiful place. I visited this week, and it is truly impressive. John’s room even has a door to the backyard, which includes a putting green. John has never been much of a golfer, but maybe this will motivate him. At the very least, he will be able to see Max at the bedroom door from time to time for visits.

We are hoping that with more rest, John will be able to recover faster. Like all of us, real recovery depends heavily on sleep, and this new environment should help him get more of it.

John has been very anxious to make this move. I showed him photos of Mariposa Manor, and he is very excited to be out of Kindred and in his own private room.

If you are able to visit, I know John would appreciate it. If you cannot visit, prayers are always welcome.
