Welcome friends and colleagues of John Tanzella, CEO of IGLTA
For those of you just learning, John was admitted to the hospital in Palm Springs, CA right before Thanksgiving and diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome stemming from an intestinal infection. Guillain-Barré Syndrome is a is a rare neurological disease and autoimmune disorder.
The syndrome has left him completely paralyzed and on life support for breathing. He has since stabilized and alert and now making progress towards recovery! He is moving his shoulders, his jaw, and his tongue trying to speak and communicate!
John has since been moved to Kindred Hospital Ontario, in Ontario, CA.
John is cleared to move to the next facility, but the process can take time to find one that will accept him that has an empty bed. As soon as I hear I will update the site to let you know, but for now he is at Kindred Ontario and can have visitors.
