Hello everyone, I haven’t made an update in a while because there really haven’t been any changes since the last update.
John is stable now in the same state and same prognosis but ending his permitted stay at the long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) facility at Kindred. Currently the case worker at Kindred is trying to find the next step down of care which is a Sub-Acute Care facility for John. These facilities are much smaller than a normal hospital or LTACH with typically 21 – 26 beds. This is making it difficult to find one with an available bed. We would prefer to get one as close as possible to Palm Springs, but he could move as far as Sacramento. It is dependent on which one has the first available bed essentially.
Desert Regional only gave me one day’s notice that he would be moving to Kindred Ontario but hopefully have a little more notice this time. I suggest waiting to book flights until we have confirmation of John’s new location. If you are local to LA, Ontario or Palm Springs, please feel free to go and visit John. Try not to stay too long and interrupt his rest so he can heal, but you’re welcome to go.
Once we know where he will be next, I will be sure to update the site immediately so everyone can make plans. The sub-acute care facility will be less care than he’s getting but also less interruptions 24/7 so we are hoping he will sleep more and heal faster.
I am trying to fast track John into Medicare as he is too young and really need a California-based medical attorney who can get his records, know California doctors, and build a case for John. A lot of people ask how they can help, this is a great way.
Please pray for John.

Thank you for the update, Fred. John and you remain in our thoughts and prayers around the world.
I’ve been asking some friends about a medical attorney and I’ll message you if I come across any helpful leads. Thank you so much again for all you’re doing. Abraços, amigo!
Fred, Thank you for the update and for quickly responding to my request. I will continue to keep John in my prayers and look forward to your updates as I look forward to traveling to see John.
