Updates from Kindred Ontario

Today I had a call with the entire Kindred Hospital Ontario team who are treating John, from the Dr Sarah Roberts, Lola in Pharmacy, Rowena in Wound Care, Vanessa in Respiratory, Luis in Nursing and Melanie, Nursing Supervisor. I have also heard from Dr Phadnis and the neurologist. Everyone was very kind and thorough. It was a nice feeling to know he is getting good care there.

As I wrote before, he is battling through Covid and the plan is to leave isolation on Dec 22 and into a normal room. He is taking various scheduled medications daily and they have a list of others as needed.  On the respiratory side, John is still on full-support of the ventilator. Vanessa is giving him respiratory support and tests John to see if he can breath on his own daily. So far he is dependent on the machine but hoping for improvement. Luis reported that his vitals are stable and that John can communicate with his eyes, which is great news. Melanie, the nursing supervisor mentioned she would check with Dr Bachman (sp), the infectious disease doctor to see if John is on target to be released from isolation on the 22nd since several of you are planning trips to Ontario.

So the above are the people closest to John’s care and hopefully I didn’t leave anyone out.
