Today is the best update so far. John has gained control of movement in his shoulders! If I didn’t see it in a video, I would have been a little suspect, but thanks to Yarden, we have video evidence and additionally his head doctor called with the update. John’s not quite out of the woods yet, but this is a sign that he has passed through the acute phase and hopefully we will continue to see more improvements. John’s face looks like him again finally and you can see his personality coming back. He’s very alert and wants to talk and can control his jaw and moving his tongue. He can’t quite control his lips enough to mouth words so we created a two-page alphabet to try and point to letters so he can spell out words. Just weeks ago, none of this was possible so it’s amazing progress. Thank you everyone for all your support. There is a light at the end of this dark tunnel!
